When a new investment manager or custodian is needed,
our Manager Search Group screens candidates and presents
the finalists to the trustees. Each candidate goes through
a rigorous selection process that allows us to determine
which managers are best suited to manage our client's assets
for a particular mandate.
The manager search process at MCG is systematic in that it
relies on a variety of both qualitative and quantitative factors.
Fundamental data is available to MCG through a number of outside
sources, however most of our information comes from our own
proprietary questionnaire that each manager is required to complete
on a quarterly basis.
In addition, our Analysts meet with over 500 investment managers
per year, which allows us to see a wide variety of firms, styles of
management and levels of servicing. This practice helps us to separate
those firms who are capable to successfully manage money for our clients.
Our manager search process is never complete. After a manager
is selected, we monitor the manager to make sure that they continue
to manage assets in the same style that they were first selected
to do. This continuous process helps to ensure that our clients
have the best investment managers working on their behalf.
